about us
Research Design Access is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit and California public benefit corporation. RDA was co-founded November 2012 in a studio apartment in Oakland, California.
Two College Advisers discussed high drop out rates reported in a Los Angeles Times article. As culturally mixed, 1st generation, LA Co. born-leaders, the article felt like a call to action. Noticing similar trends in Bay Area high schools, they dreamed & continued to fulfill necessary public service gaps, through innovation and culturally relevant services/support.

The two continued to excel in their professional careers in higher education. Through community building, Public Policy & Administration graduate programs and (working class) daily life occurrences, a grassroots Mentorship cohort & service projects was created. Their goal was officially established as a 501c3 in May, 2019 in Whittier, California .
